现在分词即具有形容词和副词特征的动词-ing形式是中学英语学习的重点和难点之一。为了帮助高中学生掌握这一知识点,本文就学习现在分词提出应注意的十个问题,供参考。一、现在分词作定语时与被修饰的名词是逻辑上的主谓关系。如:1.The inspiring information is from the far away land.(“情报”鼓舞人心,inspiring的逻辑主语是information)2.The girl sitting under that tree is my sister.(“女孩”坐,sitting的逻辑主语是the girl)3.Jean,not knowing where to find the book,asked her mother where the book was.(Tean“不知道”,not knowing的逻辑主语是Jean)注意单个分词和分词短语修饰名词时的不同:前者放在被修饰的名词之前,如例1,后者放在被修饰的名词后面,如例2。二、现在分词作状语,其逻辑主语是句子的主语。如:
Now the participle, that is, the verb-ing form with the features of adjectives and adverbs is one of the key and difficult points in English learning in middle schools. Note the difference between the individual participle and the participle phrase to modify the noun: the former is placed before the modified noun, as in Example 1, the latter is placed behind the modified noun, Example 2 Second, the present participle is an adverbial, whose logical subject is the subject of the sentence.
