羊很早就出现在人类的生活中,且伴随着中华民族步入文明。石羊在古代陵墓中的出现,主要是为了表达“吉祥”之意。汉代、唐代、宋代留给了我们丰富的石雕艺术遗产,它们的发展有效地记载并且反映了当时的繁荣景象。这三个时期的石羊雕刻艺术特点虽各不相同,但有继承性,成为不同时期对审美的追求和向往。
Sheep appeared very early in human life, and accompanied by the Chinese nation into civilization. The emergence of stone sheep in ancient tombs, mainly to express “auspicious ” meaning. The Han, the Tang and Song dynasties left us with rich artistic heritage of stone carvings. Their development effectively recorded and reflected the prosperity of the time. The three periods of stone carving art features vary, but there is inheritance, as the aesthetic pursuit of different periods and yearning.
