在韦尔蒂、麦卡勒斯和奥康纳这几位南方女性作家的作品中,丑陋的女性形象频繁出现。一方面,她们借此对南方淑女传统提出质疑和挑战,另一方面,这些丑陋的形象也映射出在南方历史上种族主义和等级制度的严苛。本文围绕韦尔蒂的小说集《绿窗帘》、麦卡勒斯的《伤心咖啡馆之歌》和奥康纳的小说集《好人难寻》等作品进行分析,探讨几位作家对于南方女性神话的解构,以及对南方女性在历史中所扮演角色的反思。
In the works of several southern women writers, such as Weerti, McCullox and O’Connor, ugly female images appear frequently. On the one hand, they use this to challenge and challenge the tradition of southern ladies. On the other hand, these ugly images also map out the harshness of racism and hierarchy in Southern history. This article analyzes the works of Weilti’s novel Green Curtains, McCullers’s Song of Sad Cafe and O’Connor’s collection of novels, A Good Man Is Hard to Find, and explores the influence of several writers on the southern feminine mythology Deconstruct, and reflect on the role played by women in the South in history.
