Last summer, I participated in the Beijing Municipal Education Commission and Trinity College London, a joint senior teacher training class. During the training, I observed the oral teaching of foreign teachers. The first stage they started when the class was started was a 5-10 minute elicitation, which was actually a heuristic opening. I think this is a good practice, I tried it. The results prove that there are four advantages to doing so: (1) Students’ attention can be concentrated so that they can actively think and effectively participate in classroom activities. (2) It can make the teachers understand what the students know and do not know, and conduct targeted teaching. (C) to encourage students to dare to guess, give their own answer or draw conclusions. (D) to reduce the pressure on students to learn English, to eliminate the anxiety of students learning English. A lot of inspirational ways, following the first of my oral lessons inspired by the opening as an example briefly.
