求真是编辑活动的一种科学性劳动,它从理性的角度处理稿件,以提高稿件的科学价值;审美是编辑活动中从审美的角度,按照美的规律选择、认识、理解、加工稿件,从而实现稿件内容和形式的完美统一。因此,科学性与审美性是体现编辑活动的最本质特征,二者有不同的特性和功能,但又密不可分,贯穿于整个编辑活动中。
