改革的大潮,席卷着各行各业.社会主义市场经济的确立,向图书馆提出了新的挑战;社会对信息需求之迫切与市场发展之迅猛,也在冲击和考验着图书馆工作.随着我国社会主义现代化建设的进程,人们越来越认识到,文献信息工作对于经济建设、科学研究、科学决策以及各项事业发展的重要作用.离开文献、信息,各项工作将无法顺利进行.图书馆在为经济建设提供文献信息服务方面是责无旁贷的;从我国改革事业的大趋势看,将图书馆部分地推向市场经济,加快图书馆改革势在必行.
The tide of reform has swept across all walks of life. The establishment of a socialist market economy has posed new challenges to libraries. The urgent need for information and rapid market development in the society have also hit and tested the work of libraries. As the process of socialist modernization in our country is getting more and more realized, the important role of the literature and information work in economic construction, scientific research, scientific decision-making and the development of various undertakings will not be able to go smoothly without documents, information and other work. The library is duty-bound to provide documentary information services for economic construction. From the general trend of our country’s reform, it is imperative to push the library partially to the market economy and accelerate the library reform.
