敦煌佛教版画是当今所能见到的年代最早的中国古代传统版画。他是表现佛教信仰的一种方式,他与敦煌石窟艺术一脉相承,是敦煌艺术的重要组成部分,是我国古代传统版画另一种表现形式,是中国版画艺术与敦煌佛教文化相结合的产物,更是我国古代传统版画发展史上最重要的篇章,具有独一无二的审美价值和文化蕴涵,对于我国乃至全世界美术史都产生重要影响。本文将阐述我国古代传统版画中的敦煌佛教版画的历史发展进程及其历史意义。
