According to the British “Janez Naval International” reported on October 26, 2009, the German Defense Ministry has confirmed that the four 214-type submarines that Germany built for the Greek navy were rejected by the Greek government for any significant quality problems. After obtaining the information, the Taiwan Navy dispatched officers to contact with the German manufacturers immediately, hoping to acquire the four submarines that were rejected by Greece. It is reported that the existence of these four submarines is not a general quality problem, and the price is much higher than the same performance of other types of submarines. Why do Taiwan’s Navy still have to spend huge sums of money to buy when they know there are problems? Why can these 4 submarines have such favor?
