苏州工业园区是中新两国政府间重要的合作项目,1994年2月经国务院批准设立,同年5月实施启动。园区地处苏州城东金鸡湖畔,行政区域面积达到288平方公里,下辖三镇,户籍人口27万,其中中新合作区规划发展面积70平方公里。我们的目标是：把苏州工业园区建设成为具有国际竞争力的高科技工业园区和现代化、园林化、国际化的新城区。
Suzhou Industrial Park is an important cooperation project between China and New Zealand. It was approved by the State Council in February 1994 and started in May of the same year. Park is located in Suzhou East Jinji Lake, the administrative area of 288 square kilometers, administered three towns, household population of 270,000, of which the new cooperation zone planning and development area of 70 square kilometers. Our goal is: to build Suzhou Industrial Park into an internationally competitive high-tech industrial park and a modern, garden-based and international new city.
