粤引8号是广州甘蔗糖业研究所从美国引进选育的特早熟高糖、高产、多抗甘蔗品种。该品种萌芽较好,分蘖力强,前期生长较快,植株高大,中茎,有效茎数多,宿根性好,丰产潜力大,前期糖分高,适合糖厂早期开榨。多年多点试验结果表明,粤引8号平均蔗茎产量101.0t/hm2,含糖量15.00t/hm2,11月甘蔗蔗糖分达14.38%,11月～次年2月蔗糖分平均为14.87%,产量和糖分明显比对照高。
