中央人民政府委员会第七次会议,通过了中华人民共和国婚姻法。这是我国新民主主义革命时期的一项重要的立法。从此,旧中国所遗留的封建主义的婚姻制度将彻底被废除,而新民主主义的婚姻制度将普遍实行于全国。这是一项伟大的社会改革工作,它在全国范围内开展起来,必将获得广大男女人民,特别是妇女群众的热烈拥护,使中国人民的社会生活前进与提高一步。这个婚姻法制度的基本原则,是要彻底摧毁中国长期封建制度在婚姻关系上所加于人民的枷锁。它的立法精神是要推翻以男子这中心的「夫权
The Seventh Session of the Central People’s Government Commission passed the Marriage Law of the People’s Republic of China.
