Apple announced at San Francisco’s Worldwide Developers Conference that it plans to launch Macintosh computers using Intel processors starting in 2006 and will transition to full production by the end of 2007. At the Developer Conference, Apple showed 3800 attendees the Mac OS X Tiger operating system running on the Intel-Mac platform. Apple also released an Intel-Mac platform development kit for developers to help developers prepare for writing software that runs on both PowePC and Intel-Mac platforms. After cooperating with Intel, apple can use the wide range of Intel processor products and standard components first, and can also use the Intel Centrino platform to launch notebooks with more balanced performance / power consumption.
