在世界范围内,随着IP业务的迅速增长,数据业务的增长速度异乎寻常地高,造成了几乎所有光域的网络(海底、陆上长途、城域和接入网)都需要采用光联网而不是简单的点到点光传送。在新的以数据为核心的网络发展过程中,蕴藏着光传送网丰富的发展契机,我们将看到目前采用了IP、ATM和SDH/SONET技术精髓的管理网将在新的OTN域联网,OXC技术和OXC具有的智能功能是面向业务的光网络成功的关键。朗讯公司贝尔实验室的MicroStar~(TM)技术是在微电子机械系统(MEMS)技术领域的专利研究成果,它可用于获得开关速度低于毫秒级、体积较小而容量相对较大的交换结构。以该技术为基础的WaveStar~(TM)LambdaRouter产品是业界容量最大的全光路由器,并已经通过实验室测试,与GlobalCrossing进行现场测试。在光网络理论和产品迅速发展的阶段,这些新的技术思路和产品对我国的制造商和运营商都有启示和借鉴的意义。
