为了选择油桐早实抗寒高产稳产的优良品种,我所于1978年引进我国各地油桐良种种子进行播种育苗对比试验.试验材料1977年年底承中国林科院亚热带林科所提供,共6个省区11个品种,470粒.试验地设置在本所试验苗圃内,东径118°40′,北纬31°51′.属北亚热带气候,年平均气温15℃左右,年平均降雨量1000毫米,大多集中在6～9月份.苗圃为丘陵山区冲田,土壤系中壤质冲积土.苗床宽1米,高30厘米.4月4日条播,种子未作任何处理.苗期进行常规管理.
