梨园一词公认的说法是从唐代开始的,唐玄宗一手鼓弄的皇家艺术园地似乎兼有院校与演出团体双重性质,而且很注意内部环境,种植了大片梨树,花盛叶茂时节颇为惹眼,艺术情调讲的就是这个样子,后来梨园这个词就成了中国戏剧圈子的代名词,戏剧从业人员被称为‘梨园子弟’。唐明皇是理所当然的园长,因为参与表演,所以又兼有剧团团长的身份,这种有领导有部属的建制就是后来江湖上叫的‘成班的’,头儿就是班主;外交人员外出包揽台口,叫做‘揽头’,有些公关经纪的味道。
