形象是和人类的文明相伴生的。在人类的文明史上,形象是现实世界的存在方式。而人们对形象的反思必然要形成形象科学。历史之初的形象科学也就是后来人所说的哲学。随着学科的不断分化,哲学逐渐独立化而成为智慧学,但围绕逻辑的自适性也形成了一定的封闭性。这些哲学都多少带有“经院”的痕迹。为了克服概念的演绎所带来的惰性,人类必然要追随形象的发展使哲学“回归”到形象科学。当然这不是简单的返复,而是在新的历史条件下的复兴。形象科学将在世界观、历史观、认识论和方法论等基本问题上给与全新的回答。她以形象生态体系的内在建设性为主导线索,以把握“完备的客观性”为依据,在形象内在矛盾的展开中引导人们正确发挥自己的主观能动性,把“可操作性”蕴涵到她的基础理论中,从而真正实现“解释世界”和“改变世界”的内在统一。
