2005年是世界反法西斯战争和中国抗日战争胜利60周年。各种媒体回顾60年前中国抗战正面战场和敌后战场的文章很多,介绍中国军队在境外(主要是缅甸)战场作战情况的资料也不少。但是,把中国抗战和盟国亚洲战场联系起来、全面介绍中国军队和盟军并肩战斗、中国和盟国相互依存、相互支援的文章还不多见。美国《时代—生活》出版社于1980年出版了一套20册的二战系列图书,CBI(中缅印战区)是其中之一。作者堂·莫瑟尔(DonMoser)向读者介绍了亚洲早期的战事、CBI的建立、盟军的失败和胜利等,史料详实,图文并茂,很受读者欢迎。作者是美国人,他面向的读者主要是美国人,书中对美国人如史迪威、陈纳德和“掠夺者”(美军先遣队)的描写多于对中国军人的描写,是可以理解的。尽管这样,作者仍然为我们提供了不少闻所未闻的故事,对我们全面了解抗击日本法西斯的斗争,不无裨益。我利用工作之余,将其编译出来献给读者,希望能得到读者的喜欢。
2005 marks the 60th anniversary of the victory of the world anti-fascist war and the Chinese anti-Japanese war. Various media recalled many articles about China’s battle front and its enemy’s battlefield 60 years ago. There is also a lot of information on how the Chinese military operates on the battlefields outside of China (mainly Burma). However, linking China’s war of resistance with the battlefield in Asia with its allies, a comprehensive account of the interdependence and mutual support articles between the Chinese army and its coalition forces is still rare. The United States, “Time - Life” in 1980 published a set of 20 World War II series of books, CBI (China-Burma India Theater) is one of them. Author Don Moser introduced to readers the story of early war in Asia, the establishment of the CBI, the defeat and victory of the Allied Forces, and other relevant materials. The author is an American. His readers are primarily American. His book contains more descriptions of Americans such as Stilwell, Chennault and Predators than the description of Chinese soldiers. In spite of this, the author still provided us with many unheard-of stories that are of no help to us in fully understanding the battle against Japanese fascism. I use my spare time, compiled it dedicated to readers, hoping to get readers like it.
