光纤与平面波导的耦合是一个相当复杂的问题,为获得最佳效率必需满足二个条件:(1)二者模的分布必须匹配。(2)幅值分布必须匹配。由于单模光纤的芯层远大于波导的厚度,因此,耦合效率低。Cohen〔1〕在纤芯为4μm,外径为250μm的光纤端面制作了微型透镜,用扫描电子束得到透镜照片,并用光学成象方法比较光纤端面无透镜及有透镜时象的大小和球形微型透镜焦平面上光强轮廓的高斯分布形状。
The coupling between optical fiber and planar waveguide is a rather complex issue. Two conditions must be satisfied for the best efficiency: (1) The distribution of the two modes must be matched. (2) The amplitude distribution must match. The coupling efficiency is low due to the much larger core layer of the single-mode fiber than the thickness of the waveguide. Cohen 〔1〕 in the fiber core is 4μm, the outer diameter of 250μm fiber end face made of micro-lens, with a scanning electron beam to obtain a lens photograph, and optical imaging method to compare the fiber end lens-free and lens-like size and spherical micro Gaussian distribution of light intensity profile on the lens focal plane.
