比较文学法国学派与美国学派在比较文学是文学史分支还是文学批评的问题上曾有过激烈争论,显示了两个学派对比较文学的不同定位和思考。比较文学是文学史分支这一观点有自身合理的内涵与学理依据,美国学者韦勒克的批评不完全符合事实。有些问题仍然处于被遮蔽的状态,其中相关问题有重新认识的必要。
Comparative Literature The French School and the American School have had heated debates over whether comparative literature is a branch of literary history or literary criticism, which shows the different positions and reflections of the two schools on comparative literature. The view that comparative literature is a branch of literary history has its own reasonable connotation and theoretical basis. The criticism of American scholar Wellek does not completely accord with the facts. Some issues are still in a shadow state, and relevant issues are necessary for a new understanding.
