Migraine is very common, its incidence and the trigeminovascular system is closely related to the current lack of specific treatment. Calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) is the most potent vasodilator widely expressed in the trigeminal ganglion cells and has been found to play an important role in the development of migraine in recent years and may serve as a new therapeutic target for migraine. The small molecule CGRP antagonist BIBN4096BS has been used in the second phase of migraine treatment, and CGRP and its receptors can be regulated by other means, bringing new hope for the treatment of migraine.
