大西南解放后,邓小平任中共中央西南局书记、西南军政委员会副主席、西南军区政治委员。解放伊始,百废待兴,在邓小平的提议下,西南军政委员会作出的第一个重大决策就是修建成渝铁路。成渝铁路西起成都市,东抵重庆市,全长505公里,于1950年6月15日开工,1952年7月1日建成通车。这是我国西南地区第一条铁路干线,也是新中国成立后中国人民依靠自己的力量,自力更生修建的第一条铁路。
After the liberation of the Southwest, Deng Xiaoping was secretary of the Southwest Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, deputy chairman of the Southwest Military and Political Committee and political commissar of the Southwest Military Region. At the very beginning of liberation, there was no effective solution. At the suggestion of Deng Xiaoping, the first major decision made by the Southwest Military and Political Committee was to construct the Chengdu-Chongqing Railway. Cheng-Yu railway west of Chengdu, east of Chongqing, a total length of 505 km, started in June 15, 1950, July 1, 1952 opened to traffic. This is the first railway line in the southwest of our country and the first railway to be built by the Chinese people on their own initiative and rejuvenated after the founding of new China.
