毛蚶俗称瓦楞子、毛蛤,壳质坚厚,适应能力强,发病率低。其肉质鲜美,食用价值高,市场需求大,是一种很有发展前途的养殖品种。为克服传统底播增殖方式的局限性,探索黄海南部地区毛蚶养殖高产高效新技术,我们于2000～2001年在海州湾北岸腹地浅海区进行了毛蚶半人工采苗与筏式养殖试验,获得了一定的成功经验。2001年采苗2000万粒,养殖面积 100亩,收获毛蚶 25万 kg,产值 120万元,纯利润 45.4万元。现将试验情况介绍如下:
