The current economic growth of the two economic changes is different from before. Not long ago, as the economy grew, one could reasonably assume that the standard of living of most Americans would be correspondingly higher. The situation is different now. Statistics show that the economy maintained growth throughout the post-war period, but economic growth slowed after 1973. After 1973, a typical middle-class household income was essentially balanced, rising only 6% in the 23 years from 1973 to 1996 (up 104% from 1947 to 1973).
