With mention of former mayor Li Zi Liu, we can not fail to mention his strong “complex” with Cantonese opera. During his tenure, he established the Cantonese Opera Foundation and the Redline Women’s Art Center to make contributions to the reform and development of Cantonese opera and laid a solid foundation for the further reform and development of Cantonese opera in the future. It is no exaggeration to say that Cantonese opera today can not be separated from the care and support of Mayor Li.
