[Objective] The aim of this research was to determine the content of total flavonoids in Crateva unilocularis from different production areas,which provided technical support for the selection and extension of C.unilocularis.[Method] Using rutin as the control substance,contents of total flavonoids in Crateva unilocularis from different production areas including Xishuang Banna,Pu’er,Shiping and Jianshui were determined at 510 nm by UV spectrophotometry with with sodium nitrite-aluminum nitrate-sodium hydroxide as the chromogenic reagent.[Result] Contents of total flavonoids in Crateva unilocularis from Xishuang Banna,Pu’er,Shiping and Jianshui were 1.89,2.22,2.02 and 1.49 mg/g,respectively.Among them,content of total flavonoids in Crateva unilocularis was the highest in Pu’er and lowest in Jianshui.[Conclusion] The method was accurate,reliable,repeatable and could be used to determine the content of total flavonoids in Crateva unilocularis.
