“国科会” 于1997年8月1日在台湾大学内成立“国科会海洋科学研究中心”。中心根据成立之宗旨与目标,由执行委员会等组成相关之任务小组积极推动并执行四项任务:1.推动海洋相关尖端研究;2.协调及整合海洋研究船队;3.海洋资源调查及建立资料库;4.推动国际海洋科学合作。1998年8月1日起的工作重点为:1.执行台湾海峡全面观测及现报模式建立;2.设立南海定点观测站执行海况连续观测;3.全面接收西太平洋卫星遥测资料;4.继续参与国际海洋钻探计划;5. 规划筹建三千吨级多功能海洋研究船。
“National Science Council” on August 1, 1997 in Taiwan University to set up a “National Science Council Marine Science Research Center.” In accordance with its purpose and objectives, the Center actively promotes and carries out four tasks through its related task force: 1. To promote cutting-edge marine research; 2. To coordinate and integrate marine research fleets; 3. To investigate and establish marine resources Database; 4. To promote international marine science cooperation. August 1, 1998 from the focus of work: 1. The implementation of the Taiwan Strait comprehensive observation and the establishment of the current mode of reporting; 2. The establishment of the South China Sea Station observation of the implementation of continuous observation of the sea conditions; 3. Fully receive the Western Pacific satellite telemetry data; 4. Continue Participate in the International Marine Drilling Program; 5. Planning to build three thousand-ton multi-purpose ocean research ship.
