The newly elected clubs and union officials of the American Geophysical Union (AGU) took over the work of the Governing Council on July 1, 1982. Each newly elected club president will serve for two years before serving as a two-year club president. The members of these councils described below will hold office until June 30, 1984. James A. Van Allen is president of the American Geophysical Union; professor of physics at the University of La Loh. J.Tuzo Wilson Former President of the American Geophysical Union; director of the Ontario Science Center. American Geophysical
