美国的水基金(American Water Foundation,简称AWF)是民间的非营利团体,主要进行有益于改善世界范围水资源的管理、保护等方面的教育与研修。AWF作为美国ICID的会员,得到美国灌溉排水委员会的合作,它主办的研修班也是在美国联邦、州、地方自治团体和会社等的密切协助下进行的。在最近的五年间。AFW国际研修班有20多个国家400多名人员参加。在国际机构中,世界银行、美国国际开发局、联合国开发计划署、FAO、加拿大国际开发局等对AWF的研修活动也予以协办。 1991年5月开始的研修班有以下内容:
The American Water Foundation (AWF) is a non-governmental non-profit organization that conducts education and training mainly in areas such as management and protection of water resources around the world. As a member of the U.S. ICID, AWF has received the cooperation of the American Irrigation and Drainage Council. Its seminars have also been conducted with the close assistance of the U.S. federal, state, local governments and clubs. In the last five years. More than 400 participants from more than 20 countries participated in the AFW International Seminar.
