Objective To understand the impact of social factors on the delivery mode of healthy maternal milk and to explore ways to reduce the rate of cesarean section. Methods The face-to-face questionnaire was used to retrospectively collect 588 healthy infants from Beijing, Suzhou and Guangzhou within 8 months after delivery and to find out the possible causes of confinement and delivery. Logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the impact Social factors of mode of delivery. Results The cesarean section rates in Beijing, Suzhou and Guangzhou were 57.8%, 52.6% and 42.9% respectively. In univariate analysis, the influence of pregnant women ’s age, pre - pregnancy body mass index (BMI), educational level and pregnancy weight gain on delivery mode were statistically significant (P <0.05). Multivariate analysis found that the age of pregnant women, body mass index before pregnancy (BMI), pregnancy weight gain is the main factor affecting the mode of delivery. Conclusion Social factors play a very important role in increasing the rate of cesarean section. Changing people’s concept of pregnancy and childbirth will help reduce the rate of cesarean section.
