荒诞派戏剧《犀牛》中的“犀牛”意象意蕴非凡,作为动物意象的一种,体现着其特有的象征层次。一般意象意义上,人性异化作用下个性的集体遗失是其关键的内核,以此为中心辐射出各种精神堕落的象征形态。原型意象意义上,“犀牛”更多地匿藏着恐惧、低劣、攻击性等内容。“犀牛”意象强大的生命力,使其具有了文学的历史意义,影响着后人。
