柏木适应性广,耐瘠耐旱,是石灰岩和钙质紫色土地区的主要造林树种。发展柏木生产,主要靠种子育苗造林。多年来,我县都采用春播育苗,但大多数苗木达不到一年出圃要求,生产上都用两年生苗木造林。为了加快荒山绿化进度,我县国营复兴苗圃改春播为秋播育苗,取得了很好的效果。在一般管理条件下,秋播的柏苗,次年秋平均高达30厘米以上,绝大多数都能出圃造林。柏木秋播育苗技术与春播相同比较,好处有以下五点:一、种子发芽快:柏木种子发芽要求一定的温度和水分。我县8、9月份平均气温在20.9℃以上,适合种子萌发。9月份平均降雨量109.7毫米,土壤湿润,也能满足柏木种子萌发的要求。一般播种后10天左右即可发芽出土,比春播出苗提早15~20天。二、可延长生长期:柏木种子秋播出苗后,当年还有两个多月的生长期,到11月中下旬逐渐停止。次年3月又开始生
