I recently read a young critic Xie Youshun’s paper “the possibility of the rise of avant-garde novels” (contained in “Mountain Flower” 1995 2 period), so deeply touched me. In my memory, these years were the period when critics were generally aphasia. Many of the critical articles lost their basic principle of value, their style of praising was serious and their spirit was almost lost. Some were busy with the study and application of western theories Trying to gain the advantage of having the initial say of a new theory. Of course, I have no objection here to invoking Western theories as our weapon of criticism because even Leninism is alien. What is important is how to put forward truly meaningful topics in critics and make convincing value judgments.
