For the purpose of assessing the level of heavy metals in the permanent residents of the typical villages in Nandan, Urumqi Cd in the villages of Chekiang, Dachang, As and Sb content were sampled. The results showed that the proportion of the average urinary Cd in rural residents was 71.43% higher than that of the reference value. The As concentrations in human urine of Chebei Township and Dachang Town were 1.49 times and 1.50 times that of the control areas respectively. Urine Sb content of town residents were 1.60 times the control area, 2.72 times. There was no significant difference in the contents of Cd, As and Sb in urine between men and women when comparing different groups of people. There was no significant difference in As and Sb between different age groups. There was no significant difference in Cd between aged group and healthy group , But significantly higher than the minor group. Taken together, the levels of heavy metals in the residents living in the three Nandan mining activity affected areas are higher than those in the control area, which needs attention.
