日前，武汉市蔬菜研究所水生蔬菜研究室在世界上首次培育出试管藕。这是莲藕细胞工程的一大突破，传统的莲藕繁殖靠的是整藕留在水中越冬，来年再引种它田，费时占地，病毒侵蚀严重，繁殖系数低，运输成本高，难以产业化生产。而试管藕的培育成功则开启了莲藕种植的新领域。
Recently, Wuhan Institute of Vegetables Aquatic Vegetable Laboratory in the world for the first time to cultivate a test tube lotus root. This is a breakthrough lotus root cell engineering, traditional lotus root relying on the whole lotus root to stay in the water winter, re-introduction of the field the following year, time-consuming, serious virus erosion, low breeding coefficient, high transportation costs, difficult industrial production . The successful cultivation of test tube lotus root opens a new field of lotus root cultivation.
