“Chromatic dispersion” is generally translated as “chromatic dispersion”, but in the optical fiber communication, the author thinks it is better to translate into “chromatic dispersion”. The term “chromatic dispersion” first appeared in optics, which refers to the phenomenon of the complex color light decomposing into monochromatic light to form a spectrum. After the promotion, any physical quantity as long as the wavelength (or frequency) and change, are called “dispersion.” Chromatic dispersioen in English and Chinese telecommunications dictionary, English-Chinese technology dictionary are translated as “dispersion (phenomenon).” However, with the rapid development of optical fiber communications, a new situation has emerged. Dispersion is one of the most important parameters of optical fiber, which is the main reason for the broadening of transmitted optical pulses. For optical communication, optical pulse stretching
