宝山钢铁(集团)公司是现代化钢铁联合企业。宝钢1978年12月动工兴建,第一期工程1985年9月建成投产。第二期工程于1991年6月建成投产,形成年产671万吨粗钢的能力。第三期工程自1996年底陆续投产,将于2000年全部建成,最终形成年产粗钢1100万吨的生产规模。1997年,公司实现销售收入258.63亿元,资本保值率为102.85％。目前正在建设的三期工程,初步设计总概算为623.4亿元人民币,计划分三步建设:第一步建设1580热轧、150吨炉、圆坯连铸以及14.5万千瓦燃气轮机工程,已于1996年建成投产;第二步建设1420冷轧、
