本文为执行国家“七·五”攻关项目“风湿热调查和风湿性心瓣膜病的一级预防”工作,在心血管病防治区,对中、小学生、公立幼儿园进行风湿热、风湿性心脏病前瞻性流行病学的调查,4年来共体检55745人次,体检率占98.5％,风心病年平均检出率为0.38％,并对所有确诊病例均进行继发性预防、开展了甲组乙型溶血性链球菌(下称甲链)的带菌者抽样调查及其感染率分布抽样调查,从而初步掌握了本地区5～18岁青少年、儿童风湿热和风湿性心脏病的流行状况及一般规律。
