“四大名旦”之一尚小云的演唱高劲圆亮,以刚为主。他有一副好嗓子,有人称他为“天赋歌喉”,有“穿云裂石”之功。他的唱腔艺术宗于陈德霖,但又有所发展。董维贤先生在其所著《京剧流派》一书中,曾以中国书法为喻,言尚的演唱“很象颜体,不光黑大圆亮、浑厚敦重,而且有峭险之处,往往力透纸背。至于行书则飞舞起落、满纸烟云,和专尚纤巧者不同”,所论甚为贴切。这里仅介绍尚派唱腔《三娘教子》的一段[二黄原板]唱腔,让我们从中体味一下尚派唱腔的风韵。
