广黄55号,是我所于1972年用广黄10号作母本、(金星6007×抵字101)组合后代作父本杂交,经多代选育而成。据1978—1980年连续3年多点试验,在34个点次中,除3个点减产(0.5—5.9％)外,其余各点次都增产,平均亩产320.9斤,比对照广黄10号(278.12斤)增产15.81％。同年大面积示范表明,比对照增产6.9—55.75％,均价提高1.83—11.20％。预计1981年在我省和广西冬种面积可达20—25万亩。特征特性:在冬种条件下,属中迟熟品种。前期生长缓慢,移栽后70天左右开始收烤,收烤期40—70天,生长定型的烟叶须经40—55天才能达到工艺成熟。株式近简型,前期株型较散,平均株高83.21厘米。着叶数26—30片。叶片长椭圆形,腰叶平均长56.93厘米,宽25.24厘米。叶片成熟落黄好,易烘烤,烤后色泽好,烤干率12.69％,平均单叶重4.92
