中国共产党优秀党员、原上海市电影局副局长、上海电影制片厂厂长、中国文联第四届委员、中国电影家协会第四届常任理事,上海电影家协会第一、第三、第四、第五届委员会理事,上海电影家协会第二届常务理事、上海电影家协会第六届荣誉理事、我国著名电影事业家徐桑楚同志因病于2011年8月23日在上海华东医院与世长辞,享年96岁。徐桑楚老厂长从影六十一载,他的一生忠诚于党、热爱祖国、追求真理、无私奉献、敢于担当、善于创新、淡泊名利、正直坦荡。历史从未停下脚步,年轻的我们或许错过了那段风起云涌的电影光荣岁月,但是那段历史的亲历者和讲述者,将帮助我们一起回忆、缅怀这样一位为新中国电影事业作出杰出贡献的电影人的辉煌一生。
