智能化的空间,最突出的特点是丝毫看不到那些笨重的电子产品的踪影,因为所有的家电包括嵌入式荧幕、无线通讯、语音或手势辨识等设备都与房屋本身融合得天衣无缝。因而,居住者几乎察觉不到它们的存在。事实上,这种家居环境看起来更像过去,也就是没有电视、DVD 放映机、音箱、电脑、遥控器和各种线路主宰我们生活的过去。除此之外,它和一般的房屋没有什么两样。事实上,智能化空间是“无所不在的智能”(Ambient Intelligence)的具体体现,“无所不在的智慧”是一种科技,这科技可以自主思考,可以回应(或甚至可以预知)个人需求,因而居住者不必大费周章,就会使用这科技。
