Recent studies have shown that hepatitis B virus (HBV) DNA exists in tissues and organs such as kidneys, skin, pancreas and the like, and is also present in mononuclear cells. It has been reported that HBV DNA is present in peripheral blood lymphocytes (PBL) of chimpanzees and woodchucks infected with HBV, but the situation in human PBL has not been reported yet. The author of this article explores. The authors studied 12 HBsAg-positive chronic active hepatitis patients (B-CAH) and 8 healthy blood donors. The liver histology and clinical data of these patients with B-CAH showed that circulating HBV DNA was present in 3 cases, HBeAg positive in 7 cases and anti-HBe positive in 5 cases. The researchers’ PBLs were fractionated, extracted and ethanol precipitated to yield DNA and RNA. DNA testing uses DNA
