文献资料的搜集与研究是社会科学研究的基本工作之一 ,在此坚实基础上产生的成果更有可能是较为科学的。发生于五四新文学运动的中国现代文学是一个“年青”的学科 ,资料年代近 ,易得 ,天然地造成忽视资料的毛病 ;而且许多研究材料在不同场合下被不断地重复使用着 ,新颖性和学术价值在降低 ;与此同时 ,中国现代文学作品版本较多、繁富迷乱 ,又使文献的搜集与研究相对地困难 ;加之现代文学是个政治性较强的学科 ,其传播、研究受到政治的不同时期和不同程度的干扰。这些就给我们的研究设置了一个课题 ,必须先做资料的辨伪、辨证工作。基于此 ,本栏六位学者从不同角度探讨了学术资料对于中国现代文学研究工作的重要性、必要性以及史料建设的重要意义 ,认为必须重视史实 (即“根据”)的析理 ,重视资料的辨伪、辨证工作 ;研究和考证是一体两面的学术行为 ,考证的过程就是研究深入的过程 ;文学资料特别重视前伸 ,因此要下些由当代到历史的功夫 ,强调翻检资料时 ,既要有历史感 ,又需要当下的立场 ;为了提高中国现代文学研究水平 ,讲求科学性是绕不过去的话题 ;在解放思想、努力创新的同时 ,还应注意反思 ,保持问题意识。
