在改革开放和社会主义市场经济的新形势下，消防工作出现了许多新情况、新特点。高层建筑、大型集贸商场、石油化工危险物品、公共娱乐场所、高级豪华装饰装修等工程均潜伏着严重的火灾危险性。火灾事故给国家和人民生命财产带来了巨大的直接和间接的损失。本文就搞好消防部队灭火作战训练，提高部队的作战能力，适应新形势下扑大火、灭恶灾，有效地保护国家财产和人民生命财产的安全，当好社会主义经济建设的保护神，并结合部队实际和自身职责，分析了当前消防工作所面临的新情况，提出了对策，以期不断总结经验，探索新路子，更好地服务于社会主义经济建设。
