The famous American writer John Updike wrote his autobiography as early as 1962 and later named it “Dogwood Tree: Chronicle” as one of the “three holy things” in human experience Two are sexuality and art). Since then, he has consistently and insightfully explored various aspects of religious matters in the creation of more than 50 of his works, covering four major creative genres: novels, short stories, poems, commentary articles . So how do we view the relationship between Updike and religion? How did Updique interpret life from the religious point of view? What is his religious view? All of these are worth studying deeply.
