介绍俄罗斯在大型露天矿山为适应深部采掘工程的需要，研制和采用了适合国情的大功率ПЭ2y型直流电力牵引机组的主要技术特性和性能。在爬坡能力上适用于坡度为60‰的电气化铁路。
In order to meet the need of deep excavation project in Russia, large-scale open-pit mines are introduced. The main technical characteristics and performance of high-power ПЭ2y DC traction units are developed and adopted. The gradeability is suitable for electrified railways with a slope of 60 ‰.
