党的十一届三中全会以来,在邓小平理论和党的基本路线指引下农业和农村工作取得了令人瞩目的成就.在这个过程中,档案工作在张家港市的各镇、各企业、各村逐步建立起来,并发挥了重要作用.目前,张家港市的各个乡镇均建有机关综合档案室,集中统一管理镇机关各类档案;大部分骨干企业也建立了档案室,档案管理上了一定水平;部分行政村也已建档合格;农业科技档案工作正在逐步规范但是,对照农业和农村工作对档案工作的客观要求,乡镇档案工作尚处于发展的初级阶段,还有一些问题亟待解决.
