It is more difficult to distinguish undeclared Leishmania by morphology. In the past, it mainly relied on the development of protozoa in the host, the pathological changes and their geographical distribution. It is now possible to distinguish undeclared Leishmania with its biochemical properties and to conduct phylogenetic studies. Isoenzyme electrophoresis and specific monoclonal antibodies recommended by WHO in 1990 are the most suitable methods to describe the characteristics of Leishmania. In this experiment, we analyzed the characteristics of 270 Leishmania isolates by enzyme electrophoresis with 18 enzyme sites.
