报载:在日本奈良县有一个不大的古刹,名叫暴死寺。这个原本并不出名的古寺,近年来却香火旺盛,每天到此参拜者有数百人,若在寺庙规定的祭日,则会多达数千人。据调查发现,来此参拜的老人,不少都是冲着“暴死寺”这个寺名来的。他们在此烧香叩首,许下希望暴死的心愿。谈及个中原由,90%以上的老人都不希望自己疾病缠身、长卧于床,给别人增加麻烦,给社会增加负担;也有一部分老年人是害怕被顽症折磨的痛苦。
