要使丰产的作物得到丰收,必须要抓紧、抓好收获这个田间作业的最后一环。收获作业要求迅速、及时,尤其小麦和水稻的收获更需及时。稻麦一般要求在5～8天的黄熟期内和完熟初期收获完毕。延迟收割,不仅会落粒掉穗,而且不能利用谷物的后熟作用。为了得到油光、饱满的籽粒,所以人们很早就有创造和使用收获机械的愿望。现在生产上广泛使用的收获机械,是近两百年来逐渐创造改进完善起来的。
